The Family photo

A family photo of Radost's family by the time she was about 19 yr old. From left to right the members of the family are:

Svetlana Vodeva (Svetla)
Years: by the time the photo was taken she was 16, now 22
Height: 171 cm
Eye color: green
Hair: dark ginger red, a bit brownish, tightly curled
Skin color: fair, just like Radost' but the freckles are more distinct
Svetla is the baby of the family. By now she studies her third year civil law and comes home to her parents only for the summer holidays. She's short-tempered just like her elder sister but she's much more sober-minded. As a teenager she was the only child in the family who didn't make problems. When times are rough, Svetla is the person who gives Radost the precious advises about life. She takes really serious about her future occupation so she's always wears austere and elegant clothes. She's very tidy and purposeful.

Margarita Vodeva (Marga)
Years: by the time the photo was taken she was 47, now 53
Height: 157 cm
Eye color: green
Hair: honey, wavy
Skin color: fair, with pale freckles
Margarita is a professional cook in love with nature. When young, she used to do mountain-hiking and now she keeps the photos of these hikes in fat albums which she inscribed and drew assiduously. She has a hand of an artist. Until a couple of years ago she used to work as a chef in many restaurants but got very sick and had to retire. Now she enjoys her golden years in the country house she and her husband Dimitar have and often delights him with her tasteful meals. She met him when she was only 19 yr old and about an year later they got married. Because of her love for nature she refused living in the city and the family had hard times building their home in the countryside. They're happy now anyway. The three children have derived the gift of drawing from her, but Radost is the most artistic of them and Marga is really proud of her.

Dimitar Vodev (Mitko)
Years: by the time the photo was taken he was 51, now 57
Height: 175 cm
Eye color: bluish-grey
Hair: dark brown, with silver locks for his age, curly, shoulder lenght
He’s the person whom the whole family owe the Rock and the rebel heart. He’s been a rocker ever since he was a child, he grew up with this music and his whole life moves with it. Mitko is a guitarist. When Jimi Hendrix died, just like Joe Satriani he swore to become the greatest guitarist of all times. Unfortunately, in the years of communism he didn’t have much luck so now he’s just a music and guitar teacher, but I’m guessing that the fame wouldn’t make him happier. He met his wife Margarita on a July morning and it was love at first sight. He is really short-tempered and both his dauthers have derived this. When he was young, he’d been a rebel, but after his son Hristo was born, he became meek and protective. As he’s aging, he gets more and more conservative. He’s deeply attached to his kids and feels sorry that they’ve flew away from the nest. He’s sorry mostly because of Hristo, because he misses the man-presence of his only son. He’s deeply attached to his dauthers too. Maybe he loves the baby Svetla. He hopes that they both find „decent boys, make sure they’re listening rock too”, so that they can come for a beer.

Hristo Vodev, (Itso)
Years: by the time the photo was taken he was 24, now 30
Height: 182 cm
Eyes: grey
Hair: dark brown, wavy
Isto is the eldest child and the only son in the family. By now he’s a decent young man who already has his own family and a two-year-old little dauther. He works and lives with his family in the capital, so he rarely has the opportunity to see his parents, but they have a hold of the family ties and they gather on occasions. Itso is a amiable person with goon sence of humor. His back and arms are covered with tattoos as a result of his unruly teenage years. The foremost of his back is taken by a dragon, embracing a piece of heart-shaped rock which Radost drew for him.

Anyway. There's a little "story" behind this photo I guess Marga was the one who insisted to have a photograph of her whole family. It was the summer when Radost had to leave and go to the capital to study for her masterhood. Itso was home for a few weeks of leave, so that was the perfect chance. They all sat on the sofa, waiting for the self-shutter to do it’s job, but the naughty kid Radost couldn’t stop poking her elder brother.
- Radost... Radost, stop it... – Itso smiled, being extraordinary patient.
- There’s something in your ear, big-bro – she said, laughing. Then Svetla got pissed off.
- Oh, come on, Radost! Don’t be such a baby! – she yelled.
Yes, she was short-tempered and sober-minded, like I already said. I guess Mitko was just about to scold them all, but then Marga hushed:
- Easy, honey. The photo...
Things haven't changed that much since then, though 6 years have passed. The only one changed is Radost herself. She turned into the elegant young woman she is now, but deep inside she’s the same naughty kid she was 6 ywars ago.
